Real Betis pair Johnny Cardoso and Diego Llorente are reportedly on Villa's radar, with Tottenham possibly stepping in with a move for Cardoso. Villa have emerged as one of Premier League's most exciting sides in recent seasons, finishing fourth last season and currently sixth.
According to TEAMtalk, Villa are monitoring Cardoso and Llorente closely. Under Unai Emery, Villa have developed a squad capable of competing at the top of the table. The club signed left-back Alex Moreno from Betis in January 2023, but he has since moved to Nottingham Forest.
The situation regarding Cardoso is complicated; Tottenham are believed to have an option to buy him during a two-week window in June 2025 for £21 million (€25 million/$27 million). Betis are certain Spurs will activate this clause. If Villa made a bid in January, Tottenham may not be able to compete.
Villa could still receive a sell-on fee if they swoop before the deadline if they wait until summer to sign Cardoso.
Formerly at Leeds, Lolorente is a strong player for Betis and could be a valuable addition to Villa's squad. According to reports, Paris Saint-Germain are preparing to move for Villa striker Jhon Duran, who scores regularly from the bench. Tottenham are also interested in Jacob Ramsey.
After an impressive start to the season, Villa are also considering signing forward Bryan Mbeumo. According to TEAMtalk, Cardoso represents the USA at both the under-23 and senior levels while identifying himself as a Brazilian player, since his family returned to Brazil when he was just a few months old. In the early stages of his career at Internacional, he made his senior debut just before turning 18.
