Aston Villa Unveils Unique Black Sabbath Kit for Carabao Cup Clash

Aston Villa launches a limited edition home kit featuring 'Black Sabbath' as a tribute, during their Carabao Cup match against Crystal Palace.

Aston Villa will face Crystal Palace in the Carabao Cup tonight wearing a brand-new, unique home kit. Unai Emery's side have made an incredible start to the 2024/2025 season, with ambitions to continue their impressive form in the cup. They welcome Palace to Villa Park, looking to extend their 11-game unbeaten run and secure a place in the quarter-finals.

In a special tribute, Aston Villa's kit for the match includes 'Black Sabbath' on the back, positioned below the players' names and numbers. This distinct shirt is part of Villa's partnership with adidas and the legendary rock band. A custom version of an adidas Predator boot, featuring a hand-painted design, has also been released in conjunction with the new kit.

"This new launch features a limited edition Predator football boot and a specially-designed Villa shirt that pays homage to Ozzy Osbourne, the Prince of Darkness, and the legendary band, Black Sabbath," the club stated. They added that both items celebrate Osbourne's influence in music and culture, providing a unique connection between sport and rock history.

Following the revelation of the kit design, rock icon Ozzy Osbourne expressed his excitement: "My absolute favourite colours in the world have always been purple and black. It's been Black Sabbath colours for over 50 years. Tony, Geezer, Bill and I look at this as a huge honour. UP THE VILLA!!"

Osbourne is known to be a passionate Aston Villa fan, having previously participated in the club's kit launch during the summer. This collaboration with Black Sabbath highlights the ongoing creative journey between adidas, Aston Villa, and the iconic band.

The exclusive shirts will be available in limited quantities through the Aston Villa Store, allowing fans to possess a piece of history that bridges football and rock.
