Despite excluding Aston Villa star Morgan Rogers from his final England squad, interim coach Lee Carsley has named three uncapped players. The last two matches of the UEFA Nations League this month will be led by Carsley against Greece and Ireland. He will not take over until the beginning of next year, but has been appointed as the new head coach. He previously managed Chelsea and Bayern Munich.
After a disappointing 2-1 defeat to league leaders Greece last month, England sit three points behind the top spot and are likely to need to win both remaining games in order to finish top. According to Football365, six key Carsley players are doubtful ahead of the international break due to an injury crisis.
The final squad was officially announced, highlighting uncapped trio Curtis Jones (Liverpool), Lewis Hall (Newcastle United), and Taylor Harwood-Bellis (Southampton). The notable omissions include Aston Villa’s Morgan Rogers, Chelsea captain Reece James, as well as John Stones and Kobbie Mainoo.
The complete England squad is as follows:
Goalkeepers: Dean Henderson (Crystal Palace), Jordan Pickford (Everton), Aaron Ramsdale (Southampton)
Defenders: Marc Guehi (Crystal Palace), Ezri Konsa (Aston Villa), Trent Alexander-Arnold (Liverpool), Levi Colwill (Chelsea), Rico Lewis (Manchester City), Kyle Walker (Manchester City), Lewis Hall (Newcastle), Taylor Harwood-Bellis (Southampton)
