Tottenham are ramping up their efforts to sign Club Brugge winger Andreas Skov Olsen as interest grows from Premier League rivals, including Aston Villa. The north London club spent significantly during the summer transfer window, acquiring Wilson Odobert from Burnley for £25 million and Dominic Solanke from Bournemouth for a club-record £60 million. However, Spurs are keen to enhance their attacking options further in January.
According to TEAMtalk, Tottenham have been monitoring the 24-year-old Danish forward who notably scored 26 goals in 50 appearances across all competitions last season. With Aston Villa and West Ham also showing interest, Spurs are reportedly weighing up a move for Skov Olsen, who has started the 2024/25 campaign strongly, netting four goals in ten league matches.
Tottenham's interest in Skov Olsen follows previous links with Arsenal, who opted not to pursue a deal last summer. At that time, he was valued at around £25 million, and with his current contract entering its final 18 months in January, Club Brugge may be forced to accept a reduced offer. Andreas Skov Olsen is regarded as a direct player with attacking prowess, similar to Mohamed Salah, and could provide valuable competition for Spurs' existing wingers.
Despite an inconsistent start to the season, where Spurs have recorded four wins and three defeats from their first eight Premier League fixtures, they have been among the more entertaining teams in the league, sitting eighth in the table. Their attacking style, led by manager Ange Postecoglou, has seen them score 18 goals, only one behind league leaders Manchester City.
With players like Brennan Johnson, Son Heung-min, and new signing Solanke already contributing goals, the addition of Skov Olsen could further bolster Spurs’ attacking capabilities as they aim for a top-four finish to secure a Champions League spot for next season.
